Gen Prompt Bingo is a low commitment multi-fandom, multi-media bingo challenge.

Its aim is to provide bingo cards of gen-style prompts to be used as inspiration in creating fic, images, meta, fanmixes, vids or any other kind of fannish activities. Although the prompts themselves are "Gen" (i.e., no prompts are specifically about romance or sex) fills may be of any genre, style or rating.

Prompt lists are renewed at the start of December and April, and new cards can be claimed then even if a previous card has not been completed. There is an amnesty period for posting fills that can not be used for bingo claims from August to the end of November.

Please do not post individual prompt fills to the community. Post these to your own journal or other community space and only post to the community once you have completed a bingo. These do not have to be DreamWidth journals and communities, but they must be publicly viewable at least until the end of the current bingo round. It is OK for each prompt fill to link to separate posts or for them to link to separate items within one post (i.e., a post with several drabbles, each of which is a fill, or a post with several pictures, each of which is a fill) - as long as each fill is a distinct piece of creative work we are not concerned how you have arranged to post them to the Internet.

Europodfriends 2026 - Signups open!

Your friendly local European podfic meetup is now happening in Dresden, from Fri 20 to Mon 23 Feb 2026!

Europodfriends 2026 - Date & Location Poll

Hello europodfriends!

You may know that we’re not having a meetup this October, instead moving it to early 2026; you may not know that we’re also choosing a new venue. We want your help to figure out exactly WHEN and WHERE it will be:

We have a few dates and places in mind, so tell us what you think of the options and we can choose somewhere that suits as many people as possible. We also need a non-binding budget estimate from you. As in previous years, we don't have a flat fee for attendance, instead we ask you what you can afford and take our budget from that total. Also as in previous years, we will try to make some of our budget available as sponsorship for people who need some help to attend.

Purimgifts is an annual all-fandoms-welcome exchange for fanfic and/or podfic (participant's choice; Pod-Together style teams welcome!) with a side helping of art, focused on characters who are at least one of: women, Jewish, or persecuted by evil viziers.

Purimgifts celebrates the Jewish holiday of Purim, which commemorates one smart orphan-girl saving her people from genocide (plotted by the king's vizier) and becoming a queen while she's at it. You totes don't have to be Jewish to participate!

Ladiesbingo is a bingo challenge for creative works about the relationships between women. It runs for seven months (from September until March). Players create works to fill squares in a bingo card and gain points for the patterns they make. When the challenge ends in March winners are announced based on the number of points amassed.

The motivation behind the community is to encourage people to make creative works focused on female characters and their relationships.

Podfic Bingo is a way for podficcers to try different things when podficcing to hone their art, to get out of a rut, to venture outside their comfort zone, or try something they've always wanted to but maybe didn't have the courage to. Sign up to receive a card with 25 prompts involving Reading Style, Production, Fic Choice, and (optional) NSFW. Like traditional Bingo you can make all kinds of different lines or shapes (- | / \ + L etc.) or you can go for a full blackout of your card and do all the prompts. Bingo winners can get one cover art made by the mods for one of their podfics. If you manage a blackout, the mods will make you one compiled podbook (m4b) of your podfic/podfic series.

This year's new mods hope you have fun playing Podfic Bingo and look forward to seeing your cards!

Fandom Gift Basket is a multifandom, multi-medium gifting fest and is currently open for signups! People sign up with information about the fandoms (mediums, characters/relationships, prompts, etc.) they want, as well as any DNWs. Others then fill their requests and the mod reveals everything on the stated date. You can ask for any medium including but not limited to: fic, art, icons, graphics (wallpapers, manips/edits, banners, etc.), podfic, fanmixes, fanvids, meta, and recs. If you’re up for anything, you can also just say “any medium”.

Once signups close, the mods create a masterlist that you can easily search for those requesting podfic. You can also use the DW account's tags.

Battleship 2024

Two teams compete to clear boards of targets. Each board is a grid on which targets of various sizes and shapes are secretly placed. Teams fire shots at the boards. When a shot is fired at a square on the grid, the mods declare it a hit or a miss. Once all the squares occupied by a target are hit, the target is eliminated. The rules are loosely based on the Battleship board game, but for the Battleship Exchange, shots are fired by creating fanworks (fic, art, podfic) featuring particular tags (e.g., hurt/comfort.)
