Dear Author and/or Podficcer,

Fandom-Specific Things

• no Blackhawks as the focus of the story (mentioning the team as an opponent is okay) (in terms of players on the team: stories about them before they were Blackhawks are okay)


• no P. Kane, E. Kane, C. DeSmith, S. Varlamov, D. Doughty, B. Leipsic, M. Domi (if there are names often included in that list that I've forgotten, err on the side of avoidance)


• In the unfortunately likely event that a player is accused of something similar to the players listed above, use your discretion. (This includes, but isn't limited to, sexual assault/harassment, domestic violence, and use of offensive slurs. I'm sorry if this is vague, but I trust your judgment!)


• Avoid the term "McJesus" for Connor McDavid (if you deem the fic otherwise perfect for me, please make a note of the term's presence in your notes so I'm warned) (YES, THIS IS A BIG ENOUGH 😠 TO WARRANT THAT)


• Please keep Tyson Barrie and Alexander Kerfoot as Avs, and please keep Nazem Kadri as a Leaf.


• Um...I can't think of any NOTPs in this fandom


• I'm currently most familiar with the Pens, Avs, and Devils, but I don't mind an excuse to learn about other teams! Heck, if you want to create something not involving the NHL, go for it!!


• I can't believe I didn't mention this last year: The Hughes brothers are Jewish and I adore them!!!!!!!!

• I'm not very familiar with women's hockey, but if you want to create something that matches my likes/dislikes in terms of tropes (see general list below), then by all means go for it!


• Ships: Apps/Duggan and Chu/Ouellette are the ones I don't want shipped with anyone else. Other than that, I'm not picky!

• no CR7 despite me having written him in the past (this includes mentions)


• Um...I can't think of any NOTPs in this fandom


• That being said, I haven't done a lot in this fandom in a long time. So I'm not even sure whom I ship these days??


• I know that Tottenham Hotspur (Premier League) and AFC Ajax (Eredivisie) have Jewish identity within their historical fanbases. (I'm not sure that sentence makes much sense, but if you look them up on Wikipedia, you'll know what I mean.) So if you want to do something about one of them, or if you find a similar club and want to share the knowledge, go for it!


• I'm most familiar with the Premier League, Bundesliga, MLS, and La Liga, but I don't mind an excuse to learn about somewhere else!

• ships: Federer/Nadal, Kyrgios/Tsitsipas, Melo/A. Zverev, Alcaraz/Sinner, Auger-Aliassime/Shapovalov, Schwartzman/Thiem


• Related to the last two ships mentioned: I know Diego Schwartzman is Jewish, so something about that would be cool! Denis Shapovalov has a Jewish mother and Christian father; he wears a cross when he plays and says he's Christian, but his mother says he's Jewish. (Article: https://www.thejc.com/news/uk/israel-born-wimbledon-star-jew-ish-1.518439) I don't know if that makes him Jewish enough for this event, but please join me in being shocked at the chutzpah of going against one's Jewish mother!

• I don't mind an excuse to learn about someone new, especially someone Jewish! (This goes for men and women, active or retired!)

• TNG: Beverly/Picard, Riker/Deanna, Data/Tasha Yar, Data/LaForge, any friendship involving those characters, Wes, and/or Worf, PLEASE NO Q!


• DS9: Kira/Odo, Jadzia Dax/Worf, Keiko/Miles, Nog/Jake, any friendship involving those characters, Benjamin Sisko, and/or Quark, PLEASE NO Q!

• I hate to admit it, but I haven't actually seen this show and am unlikely to do so in the near future. I'm aware of the general plot and character arcs.


• DNW: poly ships, Ted ships other than Ted/Alexis

• I read Years 1-3 in one sitting shortly before Year 4 began its release, at which point I read as it was posted. I never looked at the in-character tweets.


• Ships I like: Bitty/Jack, Tater/Kent, (Chowder/)Nursey/Dex, Holster/Ransom, Lardo/Shitty

• I know some stuff about the NHL, but pretty much nothing about collegiate hockey. So feel free to teach me things!

• Music (I have no problem with words and music overlapping so long as the words are understandable)


• Sound effects (especially the DIY kind I do a lot of in my own podfics)

• A distinct tone for the narrator


• Singing (enthusiasm is more important to me than perceived quality in this regard)

• Sex sounds (panting/heavy breathing is okay in other contexts)


• Gagging, vomiting, and similar sounds (a few spits in a row are fine)


• Gunshots/loud bangs


• "Sudden noise" sound effects similar to the above-listed


• Anything that might make me thing something's gone wrong with my computer/phone while I'm listening (ex. buzzing noises, beeping noises)
